Finland's 1.6GW Nuclear Unit Almost at Full Capacity

Finland’s 1.6GW Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant is now running at about 87% of capacity, according to plant operator TVO.

  • The unit was running at around 440MW this morning before increasing to about 1.4GW.
  • The unit was unexpectedly shut down on Monday morning due to a turbine malfunction, TVO said.
  • Finnish TSO Fingrid suspended works on the FI-SE1 interconnector in light of the outage to increase power imports, it said today.
