First Train at Russia’s Arctic LNG 2 Began Commissioning

The first train of the Arctic LNG 2 project started commissioning works, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said.

  • The project will have a total production capacity of 19.8mtpa from three trains. The first train is planned to start production this year with the second train expected to start in 2024 and a third train to start up by 2026.
  • Russia's Arctic will produce 64 mtpa of LNG by 2030, Putin added.
  • LNG companies in Russia are expected to agree on the construction of Volkhov-Murmansk-Belokamenka gas link to connect nation’s gas network with Novatek’s planned Murmansk LNG project.
