Fiserv Retail Card Data for May

Some early May spend colour from BBG that has shared Fiserv card data. Flat yoy total retail sales (up from -1% last month) on +1.3% transaction volume offset by -1.3% fall in avg. purchase value.

  • Apparel was still down yoy but up from last months fall on recovering transaction volumes. Firm volumes drove growth for groceries.
