Focus Of Week On The RBA

This week will be dominated by RBA events with Governor Bullock appearing twice and the minutes published. The market will be looking for further information on the central bank’s thinking on the outlook for inflation and rates.

  • On Tuesday at 1000 AEDT Governor Bullock participates in a panel at the ASIC Annual Forum. This is followed by the minutes from the November meeting at 1130 AEDT. Bullock speaks at the ABE annual dinner at 1935 AEDT on Wednesday.
  • Acting head of domestic markets Schwartz speaks at the Australian Securitisation Forum’s Conference on Tuesday at 1045 AEDT.
  • The Westpac leading index is released on Wednesday. The 6-month annualised measure leads detrended growth by around 6 months. Judo Bank preliminary November PMIs print on Thursday. They were all in contractionary territory in October.
