Four Countries to Account for 80% of Near-Term Oil Supply Growth: EIA

Four countries account for over 80% of global supply growth, according to the EIA’s forecast March 14.

  • The EIA forecasts that liquids production among OPEC+ members will fall by 1m b/d in 2024 before increasing by 0.9m b/d in 2025 after most cuts expire.
  • Total petroleum liquids volumes outside of OPEC+ are set to grow by 1.4m b/d in 2024 and 1.1m b/d in 2025,
  • Most of the growth will come from the USA, with production from Canada, Brazil, and Guyana to rise by 0.3m b/d each through to 2025.
  • Global petroleum and liquids supply was 101.8m b/d in 2023. The EIA forecasts supply to is rise by 0.4m b/d bpd in 2024 and 2m b/d in 2025.
