Futures Ended Last Week On Negative Note

JGB futures shed 8 ticks in the final overnight session of last week, pressured by the reflation trade narrative, which has spilled over to broader Asia-Pac trade ahead of the Tokyo re-open.

  • Locally, the weekend saw a strong earthquake (7.1 magnitude) hit off the coast of Fukushima prefecture, while there was no tsunami threat from the earthquake it has injured several hundred and resulted in damage/widespread power outages across the region.
  • Preliminary Q4 GDP data, final industrial production readings for December and BoJ Rinban operations covering 1-10 Year JGBs headline locally on Monday.
