Futures Soften Overnight, But Finish Off Lows

JGBS

Futures shed 8 ticks overnight, but finished off of worst levels, with a confluence of factors (the latest FOMC decision, the Chinese equity market rally and some hope re: the Russia-Ukraine conflict) feeding into price action. There hasn’t been much in the way of meaningful local headline flow to impact price action since the Tokyo close.

  • Thursday’s domestic docket is headlined by core machine orders data and a Diet appearance from BoJ Governor Kuroda. Participants are already looking ahead to tomorrow’s BoJ monetary policy decision & CPI print.
