German Biomass Tender Shows Little Interest for New Plants

Germany offered 240MW of biomass capacity in the last tender round from 1 April, which showed little interest for new plants according to Bnetza.

  • Germany received 788 offers for 742MW of biomass capacity. Eight offers with a capacity of 11MW were for new biomass plants, with 780 offers and a capacity of 731MW for existing plants.
  • Bnetza awarded 263 offers for 243MW of capacity, of which six offers with 9MW were awarded for new facilities.
  • The average achieved price stood at 17.8ct/kwh, down from 18.28ct/kwh
