German-Dutch JAO Auction Price Moves in Mix Directions

The latest CBC auction for delivery in August on the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) in the Dutch-German direction fell sharply compared to the previous auction, while prices in the German-Dutch direction rose.

  • All 286MW of offered capacity in the Dutch-German direction was allocated at €4.61/MWh for August, down from €7.33/MWh also for 286MW for July delivery.
  • In the other direction, 254MW of offered capacity was allocated at €2.38/MWh, up from also 254MW but at €2.15/MWh in the previous auction.
  • The German-Dutch August spread closed at a €2.15/MWh premium on 19 July, down from €2.19/MWh from the previous day.
