German Gas Demand Fell 19.8% Below 2018-21 Average Last Week

German natural gas consumption last week stood 19.8% below the 2018-2021 average, Bnetza data showed.

  • Natural gas demand declined by 1.5% week on week.
  • German gas storage capacity stood at 82.94% of capacity as of 11 July, AGSI data showed.
  • German gas output for electricity production on 1-13 July accounted for a share of 13.8% of total power generation, or a total of 2.12TWh, according to Fraunhofer ISE. This compares to a share of 13.13% of the total, or 5.83TWh, for the whole of July 2022.
