German Longs Set Over Past Week

BONDS

Heading into the US inflation report, structural positioning across most European bond futures contracts is flat, according to MNI Europe Pi.

  • The main shift over the past 2-3 weeks has been in German contracts away from shorts/extreme shorts and toward flat structural positioning. There was evidence of long-setting in German contracts and BTP the past 5 sessions (higher OI, higher price) to Wednesday, though yesterday saw some longs reduced.
