Germany Reduces Capacity of Onshore Wind Tender

POWER

Germany's Federal Network Agency BNetzA has reduced its onshore wind capacity in the third-round auction tender to about 2.7GW from 4.09GW initially anticipated, it said.

  • The reduction is due to worries that the tendered capacity could be higher than the bids received.
  • The first round of the onshore wind tender selected 129 projects with a combined capacity of 1.79GW compared to the 2.48GW that was available.
  • The deadline for interested parties to submit their bids is 1 August, with the maximum value set at €0.0735/kWh.
