Germany’s Rooftop Solar PV Tender Again Oversubscribed

Germany’s latest solar PV tender for rooftop and noise barriers installations was again oversubscribed, while the average achieved price remained relatively low due to high demand according to Bnetza.

  • Bnetza offered 258MW in the 1 June tender round and received 162 bids for a total of 363MW. 119 offers for a total of 259MW were awarded.
  • The average achieved price stood at 8.94ct/kWh, slightly up from 8.92ct/kWh in the previous round but well below the maximum value of 10.50ct/kWh.
  • The majority of the projects, 83MW, was awarded in North Rhine-Westphalia, followed by Lower Saxony with 31MW.
  • German solar PV capacity stood at 90.294GW as of June this year, Bnetza data showed.
