Germany’s SEFE, Oman Sign LNG Supply Deal for 400k t/yr

Oman LNG signed a binding agreement with Germany’s SEFE for the supply of around 400,000 t/yr of LNG from 2026, according to a statement from Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

  • It is Oman LNG’s first supply agreement with a German company, as part of efforts to find new markets, including in Europe, the statement said. There is no further information on the duration of the agreement.
  • Earlier this year, Reuters reported Germany has been in advanced talks with Oman to sign a 10-year LNG supply deal as the country is looking for alternative to Russian pipeline gas supplies.
  • In June, SEFE signed a deal to buy US LNG from Venture Global. The firm will supply 2.25mn t/yr of LNG over the period of 20 years to SEFE.
