GILT SUMMARY: Gilts are trading flat early Monday, with potential developments
in UK domestic politics leaving markets unexcited.
- Futures are completely flat, Mar 19 Gilt future unchanged at 124.08, having
traded in a 7-tick range of 124.04-124.11 thus far.
- The 2-Yr yield is down 0.5bps at 0.73%, 5-Yr is unchanged at 0.813%, 10-Yr is
up 0.1bps at 1.161%, and 30-Yr is up 0.1bps at 1.681%.
- Focus this morning on rumours that there will be a split in the opposition
Labour Party, with an event on the 'future of British politics' set for 1000GMT.
- Little new on the Brexit front, with PM May continuing to exhort her
Conservative colleagues to get behind a Withdrawal deal.
- Nonetheless, May plans to speak to every E.U. leader to seek changes to the
agreement. France on Sunday played down rumours that Pres Macron had offered
concessions on the Irish backstop.
- No UK data out today (Rightmove Feb house prices up 0.7% M/M as reported
overnight); Jan unemployment kicks off the week Tues.
