GILT SUMMARY: Gilts have been mildly bid today in what has been a relatively
uneventful session.
- The Sep-20 gilt future trades at 137.97, just 1 tick off the day's high.
- Cash yields are 2-3bp narrower with marginal outperformance in the belly of
the curve. Current yield levels: 2-year -0.1106%, 5-year -0.089%, 10-year
0.1402%, 30-year 0.6606%.
- AstraZeneca has said that a coronavirus vaccine being developed in partnership
with Oxford University has shown some promise in early trials.
- Bilateral relations with China continue to deteriorate as the UK government
has indicated that it will suspend the extradition treaty with Hong Kong after
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab warned over the possibility of such a move in
response to Beijing's contentious security law. 
- Looking ahead, tomorrow will see the publication of public finance data for
June.
