Global Airline Passenger Capacity Rises 0.35% on Week: OAG

Global airline passenger capacity is set to rise to 123.62m seats in the seven days commencing from July 22, OAG said.

  • This is a rise of 0.35% on the previous week, a net increase of 431k seats.
  • Passenger capacity has now overtaken the forecasted forward schedule which expected 123.46m seats this week.
  • Domestic capacity is down 0.04% on the week at 71.76m seats.
  • Meanwhile, international capacity has risen by 0.56% to 51.68m seats.
  • Global capacity in July is seen at 545.5m seats, up 6.7% on the year. July is set to be the busiest month of the year.
