Global Jet Fuel Demand Stalls amid Mid-April Lull: BNEF

JET FUEL

Global implied jet fuel demand is set to remain unchanged in the week to April 22 at around 6.45m b/d, according to BNEF.

  • Domestic demand is down 0.6% on the week and 2.7% lower on the year. Meanwhile, international demand is up 0.4% on the week, and 11.6% higher on the year.
  • Global jet fuel demand is up around 5.7% on the year.
  • Asia’s demand is up 0.8% on the week, while North American demand is seen falling by 1.7% on the week.
  • North America is also the only region seeing a year-on-year fall, down 0.5%.
  • Domestic flights in China are set to grow 13% over the next four weeks, based on current schedules. However, it is common for China to cut schedules at short notice.
