Global Weekly LNG Imports Edge Higher on NW European Imports

Global weekly LNG imports edged up by 4% to 8.2mn tons during 1-7 April, supported by more shipments into Northwest Europe and Italy according to BNEF.

  • LNG imports into NW Europe and Italy rebounded last week by 0.45mn tons to 1.43mn tons.
  • In contrast, LNG imports into JKCT declined by 0.56mn tons last week to 4.05mn tons, led by lower shipments to South Korea and Taiwan.
  • Global weekly LNG supply declined by 3% to 7.9mn tons last week.
  • Russian LNG exports last week declined by 0.17mn tons to 0.47mn tons. Russia shipped four cargoes out of the Yamal LNG facility, the fewest since late August.
  • US LNG exports last week dipped to 1.72mn tons, down from 1.77mn tons the week prior. Supply from Freeport remained unchanged at two cargoes last week.
  • Australian LNG exports declined the sharpest by 0.27mn tons to 1.51m tons last week.
