Government Discussing Possible Changes To Omnibus Bill With Senate

  • According to a report in Clarin, the government is discussing with Senators possible changes to the income tax and investment incentive components of its omnibus bill . The government is hoping that these changes will help the Senate to approve the bill. If there are any modifications, the bill will need to return to the lower house for another vote.
  • On the data front today, wages figures for March will be released at 2000BST(1500ET). Wages rose by 13.3% m/m in February. Next week, attention turns to the April CPI data, due on Tuesday. The recent BCRA economist survey showed that analysts expect monthly CPI inflation to fall to 9% in April, from 11% in March. Inflation is seen ending the year at 161.3% y/y, down 28pp from the previous survey.
