Government Has Made Progress With Congress On Pension Reform, Says Finance Minister

  • Speaking at the Council of the Americas’ Latin American Cities Conference in Santiago today, Finance Minister Marcel said that the government and congress have made a lot of progress in the last few days on negotiations over the pension reform bill, according to Bloomberg. A key vote in the Senate is due at the start of July.
  • Marcel also said that falling fuel prices and the CLP will help to offset the impact of power hikes on the CPI. Electricity prices are due to be increased in H2.
