Government Seeking Fresh IMF Funds

ARGENTINA
  • According to Bloomberg, Economy Minister Luis Caputo said that the government will request a new IMF program in discussions that will come after the June 13 Board vote. He added, however, that a new IMF program will take some time to negotiate.
  • Speaking at an event hosted by the Cato Institute on Tuesday, Caputo also said that macro order will remain even if Congress doesn't pass the government's omnibus reform package it is currently debating. However, the recovery would take more time if the bill fails, he said.
