Guedes Determined To Not Follow "Wrong Path"

BRAZIL

Brazil's Guedes says he'd rather quit than follow a 'wrong path'. He said that approving additional emergency Covid aid without austerity measures would be chaotic for Brazil

Aid must be temporary:

  • "While the disease lasts, aid has help. The disease is over, the aid is over"

He added that the relationship with Congress has been very good, with reforms expected to be approved, however, privatization and tax reform are lagging behind.
