Guyana’s Oil Exports Jump Amid Third Project Start-up

Exports of Guyana’s Liza, Unity Gold, and Payara Gold crudes rose in December, according to Bloomberg.

  • The exports have been boosted by initial shipments from the Payara floating production unit.
  • In December, 17 tankers loaded 17m bbl, equating to 548k b/d, from the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity and Payara FPSOs, Bloomberg said. Two of the cargoes in December had been delayed from November.
  • This is up 65% from the average of 333k b/d in November.
  • ExxonMobil began operations at Payara in November, taking Guyana’s total production capacity to 620k b/d.
