Headline August Annual CPI Expected To Accelerate To 4.7%

  • August CPI data due at the top of the hour is expected to see the annual headline figure rise to 4.7% after breaching the central bank's upper tolerance band for the first time since 2016 last month. The monthly reading is expected to rise 0.3%.
    • USDCLP has risen just shy of 2% to start the week. Resistance remains 787.50, Aug 27 high, before the more notable bull trigger at 795.73, the Aug 9 high.
  • A bill that reforms Chile's water legislation will head to another vote at a committee formed by deputies and senators after the lower house rejected some amendments introduced by the Senate.
    • The bill will then face another round of votes at the Senate and Chamber
  • Additionally at 3pm local time: Chile's constitutional committee in the Lower House votes on several bills on whether to allow a fourth round of pension withdrawals.
