Hoegh Galleon FSRU Taking on Cool Down Volumes Ahead of Egypt Charter

LNG

The Hoegh Galleon FSRU to be used as an LNG import facility for Egypt based at Ain Sukhna is at the Reganosa LNG terminal at Ferrol, Spain and likely taking on cool-down volumes according to ICIS.

  • The FSRU left Singapore in early May and was previously reported to be expected in Egypt, just south of the Suez Canal, around mid-June.
  • Egypt has halted LNG exports and has secured the FSRU to facilitate direct LNG imports to meet summer cooling demand to escape extreme heat and with local production slowing.
  • The FSRU is expected to return to import LNG into Melbourne, Australia after completing its charter at Egypt for 19-20 months.
