UK DATA: House Price Inflation Slows; London Extends Slide

UK house price price inflation remained sluggish in April, after a 
upwardly-revised 1.6% gain in March (originally reported as a 1.4% 
gain). London prices fell by a downwardly-revised 2.5% in March, 
compared to the initially-reported 1.9% decline. London prices have not 
recorded an increase for the past 14 months, falling by a cumulative 
5.8% from their peak in July 2017. However, London prices have not 
endured such a long stretch of weakness since the financial crisis, when 
prices plunged by 17.8% between January 2009 and April 2009.
