Hungary Facing Ukrainian Block to Receive Russian Oil

Hungary is working on a solution to keep importing Russian oil after Ukraine enforced tougher sanctions on transit last month Bloomberg reports.

  • “There’s now a legal situation in Ukraine based on which Lukoil is not currently delivering to Hungary,” Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Tuesday.
  • “Now we’re working on a legal solution,” he added.
  • Lukoil is one of several Russian firms supplying crude to Hungary via the southern leg of the Druzhba pipeline in Ukraine.
