HUNGARY: NBH Rate Decision Coming Up (13:00BST/14:00CET)

HUNGARY
  • The National Bank of Hungary is expected to act in-line with its relatively hawkish guidance and keep rates unchanged at 6.75% following a 25bp cut last month.
  • A stronger-than-expected CPI reading for July warrants the pause, though risk of another 25bp easing move is noted by a minority of analysts given the relatively stable risk backdrop.
  • The rate decision itself will be announced at 13:00BST/14:00CET, followed by the policy statement and briefing at 14:00BST/15:00CET. See our full preview of the decision, with a summary of sell-side analyst views, here.
