CHINA: If the U.S imposes new tariffs on $325 billion of Chinese goods, it will
be setting new obstacles to trade negotiations between the two countries, said
Geng Shuang, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a briefing on
Wednesday. New tariffs will only make China and the U.S. "walk a longer path" to
reach a deal, Geng said, urging the U.S. to show determination and perseverance
for a mutually beneficial agreement.
