Indian Oil Minister Unfazed By Oil Cap

India is not worried about the G7 price cap on Russian oil according to its oil minister Hardeep Puri.

  • When asked about conforming with the cap, he said “I’m under no pressure and it is unlikely that I can be put under any pressure.”
  • When asked about the implications of the price cap on India, Puri said “nil”.
  • Puri said India now sources oil from 39 countries, with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Russia among the top suppliers.
  • “We’ll buy from whoever we have to,” Puri said.
