EGBS: IP&E Magazine noted that on 18 December, the European Commission endorsed
another extension to the exemption for European pension funds to centrally clear
transactions. 
- Central clearing requires the posting of cash as collateral. According to
IP&E, pension funds "argue that having to post cash as collateral for centrally
cleared derivative transactions would hurt their returns, and that they should
be allowed to post government bonds as collateral"
