Israeli PM To Visit UAE Tomorrow In First Trip To Gulf State

MIDEAST

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to visit the UAE tomorrow in his first trip to the Gulf state since the two countries normalised relations as part of the Abraham Accords signed in September 2020.

  • Netanyahu is due to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi in a historic first.
  • The Palestinian authority, which has staunchly opposed the Abraham Accords, earlier today vetoed the UAE's application to join the East Mediterranean Gas Forum, of which Israel is a member.
  • The trip comes less that two weeks before Israel holds its legislative election.
