LNG

Italy’s Panigaglia LNG terminal set to receive its first cargo since July 2024, according to ICIS ship-tracking data, suggesting maintenance work has come to an end.

  • LNG carrier “CHEIKH EL MOKRANI” is en-route to the terminal from Algeria, estimated to arrive Jan. 25
  • Italian regasification capacity utilisation averaged just over 55% in 2024, down 16 percentage points on 2023, on the back of maintenance activity at FRSU Toscana and Panigaglia LNG
  • Maintenance at FRSU Toscana has also ended, with the terminal receiving a Russian LNG cargo in December 2024
  • Total installed regasification capacity is expected to reach 28.5 Bcm in 2025 supported by the new Ravenna LNG terminal, Platts estimates, with utilisation forecast to average 70% this year.
