J.P.Morgan Await Reversal Signal In 5-/30-Year Yield Spread

US TSYS

J.P.Morgan note that “the 5s/30s curve has extended the flattening trend and approaches the next medium-term support zone at 50-60bp. Technically, the flattening trend has looked extended and set for mean reversion for some time, but the absence of a strong bounce in global macro data and an increasingly responsive Fed to inflation pressures have not allowed the market to respond to that technical signalling. We are looking for the curve to rebound into 2022, but do not yet see a tactical reversal pattern that would argue for an imminent reversal.”
