JET FUEL: Asian SAF Supply Chain to Expand: Platts

Japan, Australia, and nine Southeast Asian countries have agreed to develop an extensive sustainable fuels supply chains, a first step in helping scale up production of SAF, Platts said.

  • The agreement focuses on rising demand for the likes of SAF, as well as biofuels.
  • A key development includes an MoU between Indonesian and Japanese entities to produce SAF from low-grade coconut oil, emphasising local sustainable fuel sources.
  • The Asia Zero Emission Community Ministerial roadmap outlines over 400 projects focused on sustainable fuel supply chains.
