FOREX: JPY, CAD & GBP experiencing very slight outperformance amongst G10 in
early 2019 trade, with little in the way of major headline news flow apparent
during the session thus far, and rates sticking to tight ranges. CHF & AUD
modestly underperforming. AUD had no immediate reaction to the soft AU CoreLogic
house price index print.
- The latest round of South Korean trade data (released yesterday) & South
Korean manufacturing PMI survey point to weak external conditions, as
highlighted by BoK Chair Lee earlier today.
- Chinese Dec Caixin manufacturing PMI is due in ~20 minutes time, after its
official counterpart moved into contractionary for the first time since July
2016, with global manufacturing PMIs headlining during the remainder of the
session Wednesday.
