- Import prices are expected to fall by 0.1% after a surprise 0.9%
energy-related plunge in June. Export prices are expected to decline by 0.1% as
well.
- Despite increased tariffs on items from China, import prices remain depressed,
down 2.0% year/year overall through June and down 1.4% year/year outside the
energy components.
- Import prices from China remained on a decline in June (-0.1% m/m, -1.5% y/y),
suggesting the bulk of the imported products were not impacted by the tariffs.
