July Swiss-Austria JAO CBC Auction Price Spread Widens

Settled prices on the CBC auction for delivery in July on the Jao on the Swiss-Austrian border widened the spread on the month.

  • All of the 158MW in the Austria-Switzerland direction was allocated for July delivery at €1.55/MWh. This compares to 178MW of offered capacity allocated at €3.05/MWh for June delivery.
  • In the other direction, all of the 275MW was allocated for July delivery at €20.61/MWh. In June, all 275MW of offered capacity in the Swiss-Austrian direction was allocated at €4.85/MWh.
  • Austria’s July power base-load contract closed on Monday at €71.21/MWh, at a €21.96/MWh premium to the Swiss equivalent.
