Kazakhstan Oil Production Recovering After Power Outage

Kazakhstan’s oil production was at 223,700 tons on Wednesday vs 200,100 tons on Tuesday, 218,900 tons on Monday and 252,600 tons on Sunday.

  • Production in the region was hit by power issues at the start of the week.
  • The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has started receiving oil from shippers again after external power supply voltage was stabilized it said in a statement.
  • It said it is now receiving oil from all Kazakhstan producers. Earlier on Wednesday it was only receiving from Tengiz.
  • A number of industrial facilities in the Atyrau region have been transferred to backup power sources, and Mangistau region industrial facilities are currently receiving electricity with restrictions according to Interfax reports.
