Kazakhstan Refinery Exports Gasoline Made from Russian Naphtha

Kazakhstan’s Condensat refinery has been allowed to export 225k metric tons of gasoline this year produced from Russia's Tatneft naphtha supplies, according to documents seen by Reuters.

  • The exports from the Kazakh refinery bypasses both Russia gasoline export restrictions amid domestic shortage concerns as well as sanctions imposed by many countries on Russian refined products.
  • A draft agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan will enable the gasoline exports to countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union.
  • Tatneft supply of 15k tons a month to Condensat has been agreed according to Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry.
  • Kazakhstan's three main refineries are currently barred from exporting gasoline outside the Eurasian Union.
