Labour Lead Polls In 14 Of 19 Constituencies Ahead Of 13 Sep Election

NORWAY

The main opposition centre-left Labour party (Ap) is set to emerge as the largest party in 14 of Norway's 19 geographic constituencies according to latest polling from Norstat ahead of the 13 September legislative election.

  • Based on recent polling Labour would hold all constituencies they won in 2017, as well as taking Rogaland and Hordaland in the south west and Aust-Agder in the south.
  • The centre-right Conservatives (H) would be the largest party in only three constituencies, Vest-Agder in the south, Akershus in the east, and the capital Oslo.
  • The right-wing populist Progress Party (FrP) would take More og Romsdal in the west from the Conservatives, while the agrarian Centre Party (Sp) would retain Sogn og Fjordane, also in the west.

  • The opposition Labour party remains on course to retain its position as the largest party in parliament and is likely to be able to put together a majority left-wing coalition to oust the incumbent Conservatives.
