  • Recapping the latest headlines filtering through, Venezuela's electoral council head Elvis Amoroso has formally declared Maduro the winner of the election. The announcement comes as protesters are said to be blocking the highway to Caracas airport, clashing with National Guardsmen in the process.
  • Previously, newswires showed that Mexico will recognize the Venezuelan election result given by the electoral authority, according to president AMLO on Monday. However, Panama President Mulino says he is suspending diplomatic relations with Venezuela until a complete review of vote is carried out.
  • Additionally, a US official has said that the US is not currently considering revoking oil and gas licenses, indicating that vote transparency is to inform the future sanctions policy.
