  • In Brazil, new government estimates posted late yesterday ahead of the close confirmed that they are to end this year with a primary deficit of 0.25% of GDP, or BRL 28.8bln - at the very limit of range defined by the fiscal framework.
  • This is a wider gap than the originally forecasted BRL 14.5bln. Meanwhile, Lula confirmed late yesterday that he has still to agree with Haddad on who will take over from Campos Neto when his term as BCB President expires later this year. The Colombian finance minister is set to speak later today, alongside the Trade Minister.
