LNG At Sea Off Europe Declines on Cold Weather Demand

LNG volumes waiting for delivery on vessels around Europe has fallen after colder than normal temperatures have increased European demand.

  • LNG imports into Europe reached new record levels last week. Net import flows averaged 483mcm/d compared to 450mcm/d the previous week and only around 420mcm/d at the start of November.
  • The number of vessels carrying LNG idling off Europe has fallen 30% from the high seen in October down to 31 tankers according to S$P Global data.
