LNG: India's Dabhol LNG terminal to Resume Operations From Sept. 29

LNG

Gail India is due to resume operations at its Dabhol LNG terminal on the west coast from Sept. 29 as the monsoon season comes to a close, according to Bloomberg.

  • The 5mtpa facility halted imports of LNG in May due to the lack of breakwater facility to protect from choppy seas.
  • The Dabhol LNG terminal shuts during every monsoon season, reducing Gail’s effective capacity to just 2.9mtpa.
  • In August Gail purchased an LNG cargo on a DES basis for Oct. 1-10 delivery to Dabhol, while another tender was released in early September to swap three US cargoes for Sep. Nov. and Dec. delivery to Dabhol.
