LNG: US LNG Export Cargo Numbers Fall to 20 Last Week

The number of US LNG export cargoes fell to 20 last week from 25 the previous week, according to the EIA as feedgas flows to US LNG export terminals steady after a drop the previous week.

  • Total capacity of the vessels was at 74bcf compared to 94bcf last week based on Bloomberg data.
  • Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals were unchanged at 12.6bcf/d, according to S&P Global Commodity Insights data.
  • Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana fell by 0.2% (less than 0.1bcf/d) to 7.3bcf/d while deliveries to South Texas remains unchanged at 4.4bcf/d.
  • US LNG export terminal feedgas flows are today estimated at 12.63bcf/d, according to Bloomberg compared to an average of 12.7bcf/d so far this month but with a drop and recovery in Sabine Pass supply in the last week.
  • Asia continues to be the premium market for US LNG until at least Feb 2025, according to BNEF, as both European and Asian prices have rallied. For October delivery, profitability of US LNG exports to Asia is up to $11.33/mmbtu and to Europe is to $10.14/MMBtu.
