LNG freight rates out of the USGC have fallen to four-month lows on healthy vessel availability and muted demand in the second week of the heating season.

  • USGC LNG freight rate to NWE was 82 cents/MMBtu, the lowest since June 12.
  • The USGC-Japan/Korea via the Cape of Good Hope was $2.55/Mmbtu, the lowest since June 10.
  • Growing vessel availability in both the Atlantic and the Pacific, coupled with flat global physical LNG demand.
  • Market activity is expected to kickstart this month, as the market transitions into winter.
