LNG Vessel Unable to Find Buyer in Muted Market

LNG

The Artic Aurora LNG tankers loaded from Norway in early November, set off for the Mediterranean to Turkey before switching back towards Lithuania and is now headed back up towards Hammerfest according to ICIS ship tracking.

  • The vessel is currently not signalling a destination, Bloomberg ship tracking showed.
  • Muted LNG demand due to milder weather, lower demand and high storage levels have pushed floating LNG vessels higher in recent months.
  • The total estimated quantity of LNG tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days decreased by 0.4% last week to 4.07mn tons as of 3 December, according to Bloomberg estimates. This is up by 11% from 2022 levels and 42% higher than the 2018-2022 average.
