Local Swap Rates Curve Extends Higher

BRAZIL

Brazil sells $1.095 billion in spot USD auction on top of the $1 billion earlier. A very brief move in USDBRL from 5.73 to 5.70 has quickly been consolidated above 5.70, residing up 1.4%.
Pressure continues to be exerted in local swap rates. Parts of the belly shifting higher by 38 basis points as the latest headlines continue to point towards a circumvention of the spending cap, with no compensatory measures to be announced:
